SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Leslie Eric Buzbee stood on the bank of Bay Minette Creek at his grandfather’s fish camp Friday afternoon as a free man, holding his toddler son for the first time in two years.

“I’m honest and I told the truth,” said Buzbee, with a fishing boat behind him and clad in khakis and a button-down shirt. “And the jury found the truth.”

After two previous mistrials, the third jury to hear arguments in the Buzbee case sent the Spanish Fort man home Friday, acquitting him of capital murder in the 2007 killing of Arthur “Bobby” Wilson, 71.
