Baldwin Legal Investigations, Inc. is conducting an independent investigation in an attempt to verify the facts in the state’s case concerning William A. Minton. Minton has been charged with capital murder and abuse of a corpse of his 87-year old stepfather, Kenneth Hood, 87. According to authorities, Minton is accused of violently murdering his stepfather using blunt force trauma, followed by a carefully thought-out plan to dismember his body and scatter the pieces around the county. Minton was charged after a dog dragged a severed arm onto the property of a Magnolia Springs, AL resident who then quickly called the police. An investigation was launched, and other body parts were retrieved by cadaver-sniffing dogs around the area. A key finding was the victim’s pacemaker found in the torso, which led to his identification. For more information, see the full story.
