Family Law Investigations and Family Court Matters
Marital Infidelity Investigations
- Do you suspect you have a cheating spouse or partner?
- Do you suspect your spouse or partner has hidden assets?
- Is your ex-spouse or ex-partner receiving unreported income in order to not pay child support?
These are just a few of many questions that are answered in Family Court cases.
Statistics indicate that well in excess of 40% of spouses/partners are unfaithful. Often a ‘gut feeling’ is the first indication of a cheating partner. Many people who become suspicious start looking for additional signs to determine whether their gut feelings around cheating spouses are substantiated. We can help. We have a team of private investigators who use the latest equipment to discreetly find out what you need to know.
Family Court Matters encompasses:
- Matrimonial cases, including Infidelity, Spousal Abuse, and Divorce
- Child Custody
- Child Support
- Property Division
- Adoption
- Establishment of Paternity
The Private Investigator’s role varies with the type of dispute and the needs of the case. BLI assists your attorney with evidence collection via surveillance, interviews, records checks, looking for hidden assets, and background checks. While all states now allow for no-fault divorce, some still allow for grounds for divorce (e.g., spousal abuse, adultery, drug or alcohol addiction). Any such grounds must have evidence for a “fault” divorce.
Please note that a Private Investigator cannot enter private property without permission or access records that would ordinarily require a subpoena or court order.
Child Custody Investigations
Divorce and separation can be very difficult, distressing, and complicated situations. Often, however, the most important issue surrounding the breakup of a relationship is the well-being of any existing children. It can be even worse when you suspect your children are being placed into an environment which is less than desirable. The main objective in child custody cases is to reach an agreement that is best suited for the child, and we can help you get the facts.
If you suspect mistreatment or neglect, surveillance may be required to establish patterns of abuse or neglect. You may believe that your own video evidence may be used as proof, but it can be difficult to have it accepted as admissible in court if certain privacy concerns are not taken into account. BLI investigators are well-versed in the legality of obtaining video evidence to support claims of drug and alcohol abuse, creating an unsafe environment for children, violating any court orders or attempting to hide marital assets.
