Nick Dees, a licensed private investigator in Alabama, brings a vast wealth of expertise and experience to his investigative work. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship, earned in 2005 from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Before entering the field of private investigation, Mr. Dees spent thirteen years in executive management within the sales and hospitality industries, where he honed his exceptional people skills and sharp attention to detail.

Drawing on his extensive managerial background, Nick specializes in various investigative areas, including surveillance, activity checks, background checks, locating individuals, and conducting interviews through written and recorded statements. His strong proficiency in these areas guarantees that clients receive thorough, reliable investigations tailored to their specific needs.

Additionally, Nick is a certified technician and crash investigation analyst, having been trained to use the Bosch CDR Tool Kit, a vital resource for reconstructing and analyzing vehicle accidents. This technical expertise enhances his investigative capabilities, particularly in handling complex crash cases.

As a member of the Alabama Private Investigators Association, Nick upholds the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and confidentiality. His firm, Baldwin Legal Investigations LLC, emphasizes delivering prompt, detail-oriented, and custom-tailored investigations. Each case is approached with the utmost discretion and backed by solid research, providing clients with clear facts rather than speculation.

Before becoming a licensed Private Investigator with Baldwin Legal Investigations (BLI), Rebecca Stephens spent over six years as a Dispatcher for police, fire, and rescue departments, where she developed crucial investigative skills. This included information gathering, organization, problem-solving, attention to detail, multitasking, data analysis, time management, and customer service. As a dispatcher, she acted as the primary contact for both the public and law enforcement, maintained comprehensive records, coordinated emergency resources, and prepared detailed reports. Additionally, she authored the department’s training manual and trained new staff.

At BLI, Rebecca excels in background investigations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. Her work involves searching civil and criminal records at various levels, locating assets, analyzing social media platforms, and monitoring sex offender registries. As part of BLI’s financial investigation/forensic accounting team, she processes and analyzes financial documents, identifies discrepancies, and conducts deeper investigations as needed. In family law cases, she performs background checks, analyzes phone/toll records, conducts surveillance, and offers litigation support.

Rebecca also serves as BLI’s Administrative Director, where her leadership skills contribute to case management, resource allocation, and operational oversight. Her technical aptitude allows her to diagnose and resolve IT issues, install computer systems and networks, and provide first-level support for both BLI and its clients.

Rebecca holds a B.S. in Criminology from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating Cum Laude in 2020. She earned her Certified Social Media Intelligence Expert (CSMIE) designation in 2022 and is currently pursuing certifications as a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Mitigation Specialist.

Katheryn R. Scott is a distinguished executive with over 48 years of expertise spanning accounting, internal audit, fraud management and investigation (forensic accounting),
project management, customer service, human resources, information systems, and strategic planning. Kathy specializes in conducting financial investigations
(forensic accounting), background checks, and providing legal support in both criminal and civil cases. She also offers mitigation services in capital murder cases and is frequently
hired as an expert witness in fraud and divorce cases.

Career Highlights:

• Joined Baldwin Legal Investigations LLC in 2021.
• Co-founded Driftwood Investigations LLC, a boutique forensic accounting firm, in 2018.
• Retired as Senior Forensic Accountant with the FBI in 2017.
• Founded Scott Forensic Auditing LLC, a fraud and financial investigation firm, before joining the FBI.
• Retired after 31 ½ years from a major global specialty chemical manufacturer (Ciba, Ciba-Geigy, Ciba Specialty Chemicals), where she held senior roles such as
  Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Officer, Vice President of Internal Audit, Vice President of Finance and Administration, Director of Planning and Analysis,
  and Director of Finance and Information Services.

Kathy holds a Master of Science in Economic Crime Management from Utica College (2005) and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Accounting from Park College (1983).
She is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has previously held certifications as a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified in Control Self-Assessment.
In 2021, she earned the Fundamentals of Mitigation Certificate, qualifying her as a Mitigation Specialist in capital murder cases.

Kathy has been qualified as an expert witness in financial investigations by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama and Baldwin County Circuit Court.
